WHY FALL IS THE BEST SEASON

FALL IS IN THE AIR!

Well not really... In Texas it's still 100+ degrees Fahrenheit and the season isn't official until September 22, BUT in the world of Earth to Kace, Fall rolls in on September 1.

There are so many amazing things about Fall that make it the best season of the year. Here are a few of the SEVERAL aspects of Fall that warm people's hearts.

1. Halloween

Halloween is the absolute best time of the year! It's my favorite holiday!!! I start planning my Halloween costume during the summer and pull out my Halloween themed socks at the end of August. I love it so much because the vibe of the entire Halloween season is pure fun. There are scary movies coming out, haunted houses to go to, pumpkin patches to run through, sugary candy to devour and so much more!

2. Football Season
Here in Texas, football is everything! Once the fall season comes around and the Friday night lights start shining, the environment and mood changes to all things football related. High school and college students race to the stands every weekend and supporters from afar tune in on their tv's. Some even turn to online podcasts and blogs. For all things college football, Fourth and Ten is a great source for predictions, recaps, rankings, and so much more! The writers know how to engage the audience with their sense of humor and honest thoughts, which can make any college football fan ecstatic.

3. Pumpkin Flavored Everything

I know this sounds cliché but pumpkin flavor is to die for. The Pumpkin Spice Lattes from Starbucks are finally available and pumpkin pies are in season. While most people aren't a fan of pumpkin flavor, I think it's delicious, especially since we only really eat it once a year. There's pumpkin flavored coffee, liquor, pies, cookies, cakes, and so much more. You can even just eat pumpkin seeds. Once pumpkin flavors are out, you know Fall has arrived!

4. Bonfires
When people think of bonfires, they think of a group of friends swaddled up in blankets roasting marshmallows on a cold night. Well here on the Texas Gulf Coast, our bonfires are events. During the fall season, college students are known for hosting big bonfires. Although the weather isn't that cold yet, people have fun with music, hotdog roasting, and cold drinks. If you get too hot by the fire, you can hop into the ocean for a quick swim. This is just one of the many perks of living by the beach.

While I wish I could've said that the leaves begin to change colors and the air becomes crisp and cool, I've honestly never experienced that because, well, I live in the South. Yes, while some southern states do experience this, Texas doesn't. But don't worry, one day I plan on living in a place where Fall is actually Fall and not an extension of summer!

Happy apple-picking, s'mores toasting, candle lighting, leave pile jumping, season!

  1. I've always wanted to go to a haunted house! Too bad Halloween isn't celebrated here in Indonesia. It looks like a fun event, as a child or an adult :D

  3. YES!!! You know, I've been so envious of people who can have fire pits and bonfires because we live in an apartment in Atlanta and that's just not an option. Then I saw where someone created mini-fires in small terra cotta pots for use on their back patio and made smores over that so I'm totally down for trying it this year.

  4. All of these things are the perfect description about why Fall is the best! Here in Alabama, football is also king...in high school we used to celebrate our Friday night wins with bonfires on my dad's land-great memories!

  5. I agree with you! Fall is so fun! I love how it transforms your world visually. In Florida it is too hot for a bonfire during the fall but everything is else is on point! Thanks for sharing!
