MEET TALIA FROM DIARY OF MY CLOSET

Wednesday, June 8, 2016

Hi everyone! It is officially Wednesday, so you know what that means... ANOTHER BLOG POST!

When I first started my sponsorship program back in January, I really didn't know what I was doing. Since then I have learned and altered the program to fit my needs as well as my readers.

My top advertisers have the opportunity to choose from having a guest post on Earth to Kace or getting interviewed by me. June's top advertiser is Talia, so without further ado here we go!!!

Q. Could please introduce yourself and you blog to us?
A. Hi! My name is Talia, I started my fashion blog in 2013 as a hobby. When I first started blogging, I wrote solely about fashion trends and designers. Since then, I have expanded into interviewing up and coming fashion influencers and I also share my favorite fashion finds & tips! I’m a full-time Public Relations student based in Florida. When I’m not blogging or studying, I’m usually at the beach or working as a social-media manager for a local business.

Q. How did you come up with your blog name?
A. I had no idea what I was going to name my blog but I knew that I wanted the name to be fun and unique. I brainstormed a few names and once I thought of the name ‘Diary of my Closet’, I absolutely loved it!

Q. Why did you want to start blogging?
A. When I started my blog, it was a very spontaneous decision and it initially started out as a hobby. I didn’t have a lot of expectations coming into this, but I quickly fell in love with running my blog. I’m glad that I stuck with it, this blog has surpassed all of my expectations!

Q. Has there been anyone who has inspired you to blog?
A. No one has really inspired me to start my blog, but a few of my friends have encouraged me to continue blogging. There’s been so many times where I’ve told them that I was ready to quit blogging entirely, but they have always cheered me on!

Q. What's your favorite blogging topics and why?
A. I’ve recently started interviewing new up and coming fashion brands and designers. This has to be my favorite blogging topic because I get to speak with a few of the fashion influencers that I greatly admire. The interview segment on blog has also introduced me to many people that I wouldn’t have come into contact with otherwise.

Q. What are some of your favorite blogs to read?
A. I love reading Man Repeller and I really admire what Leandra has done with her blog. As a blogger myself, I also enjoy supporting bloggers that I'm friends with. I wish that I could mention all of them, but I’m currently working on a section on my website that highlights the blogs that I love and read daily. Stay tuned!

Q. What do you hope readers get from your blog posts?
A. I hope that my readers feel that they can relate to my posts. Being relatable is something that I’m passionate about because it’s important that my readers feel that they can trust me. I try to make each and every post personable, fun and honest and I put a lot of effort in meeting my readers’ needs and concerns.

Q. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
A. There are many countries that are on my ‘bucket list’, but I would love to visit Australia. From the pictures that I’ve seen, it looks like a stunning country!

Q. What is one fun fact about you that most people don't know?
A. A lot of people don’t know that I’m a lot younger than they realize! I’m only 19, but I’ve had readers that think I’m in my 30’s. I’ve been a little secretive about my exact age (until now) primarily for branding purposes. The last thing that I want is for my readers or brands to learn about my age and think: “Oh, she’s way too young to be taken seriously".

Q. And last but not least, if you could recommend any products (whether that be makeup, books, clothes, etc.), what would it be and why?
A. Makeup: Laura Geller has amazing makeup products! The one product from hers that I absolutely love is her ‘Berry Trifle’ blush. I’m very pale so I’ve avoided wearing blush, but this product looks so natural on! I also love my ‘No Makeup,Makeup’ palette by Too Faced. I don’t have a lot of time to sit down and do my makeup, but with this palette I’m finished with my daily makeup look in 5 minutes or less. Highly recommend both of these, they’re both very natural!!
BooksTiny Beautiful Things by Cheryl Strayed- This is a wonderful book for everyone, it’s written by the author of ‘Wild’. Cheryl’s advice is honest and so incredibly valuable. I’m currently reading it now and I haven’t put it down since I bought it! I've also started reading So You’ve Been Publicly Shamed by Jon Ronson. It's a must read for communications majors!! I haven’t finished this book yet, but I absolutely love it. It discusses how society has used social-media as a ‘shaming mechanism’, it's very insightful!
Clothing: I haven’t done a lot of shopping recently, but one item that I love is my bright pink Herschel backpack. It’s the cutest thing ever and it fits my laptop, textbooks, notebooks etc.

I hope you all enjoyed this interview with Talia! Make sure you check out Diary of my Closet and give her a follow!

  1. The deciding objective of training isn't to inspire understudies to answer the right number of inquiries; the objective is to have inquisitive and innovative understudies who can work in life.
