VALENTINE'S DAY BROWNIES

Friday, February 12, 2016

Valentine's Day is upon us and everybody's sweet tooth is in full gear. So it wouldn't be a proper Valentine's/Galentine's season without a tasty pink velvet and cream cheese brownie recipe!
This recipe is usually used with red velvet cake batter but since it is close to the day of love, I've decided to shake things up a bit and use PINK velvet cake batter (because we all know my favorite color is pink!)

Here's what you need.

BROWNIE BATTER INGREDIENTS:
Duncan Hines Pink Velvet Cake Batter
3 Large Eggs
2/3 Cup of Water
8 Tablespoons of Softened Butter

FOR THE CREAM CHEESE:
1 (8 oz) Package of Cream Cheese
1/3 Cup of Sugar
1 Egg
1 Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract

Once you have all of your ingredients ready, you can start baking! Here's what you do.
DIRECTIONS:
1. Preheat the oven to 350°. Grease a 9x9 pan.
2. In a bowl, combine the cake mix, softened butter, water, and eggs. The batter will turn out very thick, but once baked, it will become extremely moist. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish.
3. For the cheesecake topping, beat the cream cheese then slowly add sugar until combined. Beat in egg until well blended, then add the vanilla. Pour on top of browning mixture and spread into an even layer.
4. Use a toothpick or butter knife to swirl the cheesecake mixture with the brownie mixture. Bake for 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
5. Cool completely, then serve!
I hope you enjoyed this quick and easy recipe (I know my roommates did)! Stay tuned for more!
