DIY GIFT IDEAS x FIVE FOOT DARLING

Monday, December 14, 2015

Hello, I'm Kourtnee from Fivefootdarling! I was so stoked when Kaci contacted me to guest post on her blog - her blog is goals. I'm going to be sharing with you guys a few DIY christmas gifts that I am personally giving as gifts this year.  They are all super affordable, and really easy to make.  Trust me, if I can make them, so can you.  I decided to take a couple of smaller gift DIYs, that can also be used together as one big gift.  I thought this was perfect for all different price ranges.

Homemade Cocoa

You will need:
Cocoa
Sugar
Mini Marshmellows
Mason Jar
Anything else you want to add!

This gift I love. It's something that you can personalize and add or take away ingredients depending on the person you are giving this gift too!  I kept mine simple with just marshmallows, but feel free to add anything your heart desires.  To make this its super simple, just add equal parts cocoa and sugar to the mason jar.  Next add any of the other "toppings" of your choice. Once the jar is full, pour it into a mixing bowl and mix together all of the ingredients, then add the mixture back into your jar.  Voila! Pair this with a mug and you have the cutest gift.

DIY Coasters

You will need:
Cork coasters (I got mine at Walmart!)
Tape (I chose two different sizes)
Paint
Paint brush
Pencil (or anything else to create polka dots)

This one was super easy, I just taped a couple of the coasters and painted over the tape to get the stripes.  Scotch tape worked perfect!  I recommend making the tape hang over the edges of the coaster to make peeling it off easier.  I wish I had a pencil because I would have used the eraser to create the polka dots.. but I had to settle for using a lip gloss.  Anything will work! After they dry you can remove the tape and they are ready to be used..... or given as a gift of course!

DIY Candy Tray

You will need:
Tons of candy of your choice
Jewellery organizer (Again, I got mine at Walmart)

This is the perfect gift for the candy lover in your family!  Take any candy of your choice and fill up the jewelry organizer!  I actually made two of these, one to keep at my place!  It's so perfect for treats when you're cuddled up watching a movie... which brings me to my final DIY...

DIY Movie Basket

You will need:
The previous DIYs
Mugs
Blanket
Popcorn
Movie
Basket

This is a bigger gift, but it's such a cool idea I had to include it.  You can use all of the previous DIYs and make a Movie basket!  With just a few extra items, you can make the perfect gift basket for just about anyone.  I didn't actually have a movie to add when I was taking photos but I plan on picking up "Maze Runner" on DVD and giving this gift in our family gift exchange!

I hope you enjoyed these easy DIYs!  Make sure to let me know if you make any of them yourself-  tag me on Instagram @fivefootdarling so I can see them!  Have a Merry Christmas!
