CHRISTMAS TREE CUPCAKE RECIPE

Wednesday, December 9, 2015

It's no surprise that people love to bake during the holidays. I'm no exception. However, when I do bake, I try to go for the easiest recipes possible (already made cake batter, three ingredients, etc), which is exactly why I decided to make these delicious christmas tree cupcakes.
All you need is:
Betty Crocker White Cake Mix
1 1/3 cup of water
1 tbsp vegetable oil
3 large eggs
Wilton's cupcake liners
Wilton's rainbow sprinkles
Ambrosia White Bark Coating (chocolate melts)
Green food coloring
Pretzel Sticks
Wax Paper or Aluminium Foil
Plastic Bag (piping bag)
Betty Crocker white frosting
Start by preheating the oven to 350° Fahrenheit. Pour the cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs in a large bowl and whisk until smooth. Once the batter is completely combined, pour it into the lined cupcake pan and stick it in the oven for 18 minutes.

While the cupcakes are baking, start working on the tree toppers. First start by placing the pretzel sticks on the wax paper or aluminium foil, so they'll be ready to go. The Next step is melting the chocolate melts in a microwavable bowl for 1 minute then stir. Continue to heat for 15 second intervals while stirring in between until thoroughly melted. Add the green food coloring and stir. Scoop the chocolate melt into a plastic bag with a small corner cut off and use this as a piping bag to draw on the trees. Add sprinkles for small ornaments and stick in the fridge for about 20 minutes.

Once the cupcakes are out of the oven, wait for them to cool. Now it's time to frost them! By using a knife, spread the white frosting all around the top. Make it messy, it's supposed to be snow! Finally stick the trees on top and voila!
I loved making these (and so did my roommate because free cupcakes are life, right?) Hope you enjoyed this easy recipe!
