BLOGTOBER DAY 8: PUMPKINS AND MAZES AND SCARES, OH MY!

Tuesday, October 20, 2015

For my family, no October is complete without our annual Halloween weekend. Every year, I go back home for a few days to spend time with my family, binge watch scary movies, dance to Halloween-song singing decorations, and go to the South Texas Corn Maize.

The South Texas Corn Maize is a family-friendly, festive experience where there are fall-related activities, food, and more! The main attraction is, of course, the 7 acre corn maze which is exactly what we did right when we got there! It's so fun but you can definitely get lost a few times! Good thing they have riddles to help you navigate your way through or you'd be stuck in there for quite a while!

They also have a giant slide, playgrounds, apple canons (you literally shoot apples out of a canon at target… how fun?), pig races, horse back riding, hay rides, a pumpkin patch, and nightly entertainment including a band and firework show. So many kids dress up in Halloween costumes while they're there as well just to make it more festive and adults can shop at the gift shop for adorable Halloween decorations.

I bought a large pumpkin to carve and a cute mini albino pumpkin for decoration from the pumpkin patch section and let me tell you, finding the perfect pumpkin is HARD, but with sharp eyes anything is possible. My family, on the other hand, bought probably a total of 10 pumpkins. I guess you can see where I get my Halloween enthusiast gene from!

It was honestly so fun to experience a fun-filled, fall weekend with my family again. I hope to keep this tradition going on for as long as possible! The South Texas Corn Maize has something for everybody to enjoy and although it was extremely hot while we were there, it really gets you in the Fall/Halloween spirit! 'Tis the season for pumpkin everything!
