HOW TO DRESS FOR AUTUMN WHEN YOU DON'T HAVE AN AUTUMN

Wednesday, September 23, 2015

The South is considered public enemy #1 for all of us who love autumn. It's too hot to wear the typical, yet adorable autumn outfits you vigorously pin onto your "dream closet" board on Pinterest and the leaves stay the same old boring green so there's absolutely no such thing as autumn colors. In other words, dressing for the best time of the year is incredibly difficult.

Due to the struggle (#struggleisreal) of the South, I mostly become too frustrated while picking out what to wear and opt for nike running shorts and tshirts, but when I do feel my inner fashionista bursting through I can't help but go all out. In order to dress for Autumn in blazing hot weather, I tend to follow these three simple rules:

1) Wear the least amount of clothing possible (i.e. if you are wearing jeans, DON'T wear a long sleeve shirt)
2) Who cares that the leaves are green? WORK THOSE AUTUMN COLORS!
3) Keep it simple!

If you use these rules to guide yourself through your next 90°F Autumn look, then you'll be extra fabulous with MAYBE just a few drops of sweat dripping down your back. Don't worry, it's normal…I promise!
I claim non of the above pictures as my own.
